The Mall of Qatar is to be home to the world’s first indoor Angry Birds theme park, said news360. The development is in partnership with video game developer Rovio, the company behind the highly successful franchise. Scheduled to open by the end of 2015, the Mall will also have the world’s largest IMAX cinema with over 3,000 seats. The completed mall will also be home to 500 shops and 80 restaurants and cafes.
There will also be a five star fashion hotel featuring 210 rooms – part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. Moutaz Al Khayyat, executive director of main contractor UCC, said: “The last mall to be delivered in Qatar was the Villaggio in 2006 – since this time, the national population has increased by over a million so we believe there is certainly the demand. “We’ve gone to great efforts to make the Mall of Qatar stand out for its emphasis on family and entertainment.”
