Novo Cinemas to open brand-new entertainment destination at Msheireb Downtown Doha

Msheireb Properties and Novo Cinemas, a subsidiary of the prestigious Elan Group, signed an agreement to open a new innovative cinema complex, bringing the region’s cinematic industry leader to Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD), the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project.

Novo Cinemas at Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD) offers an unparalleled movie experience, with standard state-of-the-art screens as well as the new VIP 7-Star offering. The luxury 7-Star experience includes a private VIP lounge, personal butler service, fine dining menu selection and fully reclining automated seats. Majid Al Futtaim expands the Abercrombie & Fitch family in the Middle East

Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia today announced that Abercrombie & Fitch opened its first location in Qatar at the Mall of Qatar. A Hollister store is set to open in the mall later this month. These stores are part of the franchise agreement between Majid Al Futtaim Fashion and Abercrombie & Fitch Co., as announced in 2016.

Majid Al Futtaim first introduced Hollister into the region at Mall of the Emirates in February 2014, setting the brand’s records for the highest sales on opening day. The regional introduction of Abercrombie & Fitch was in Kuwait, both at 360 Mall and The Avenues, followed by a flagship store in Mall of the Emirates in December 2015 that saw the launch of the brand’s first fragrance concept store.

Abercrombie & Fitch has recently launched a new brand positon, one with an updated attitude that reflects the character, charisma and confidence of today’s 20+ consumer. Abercrombie & Fitch remains true to its 125-year heritage of creating expertly crafted products with an effortless, American style. The 456 sqm store will be on the ground floor at Mall of Qatar and will feature the brand’s warm and inviting shopping environment. Hollister is the quintessential retail brand of the global teen consumer, celebrating the liberating spirit of the endless summer inside everyone. The new Hollister store will feature the brand’s newest Spring collection, which includes a wide assortment of on-trend fashion including seasonal tops, dresses, denim, and swimsuits for both guys and girls. The 620 sqm store will sit near the Abercrombie & Fitch store on the ground floor.

Novo Cinemas – the pioneering entertainment destination in the Middle East – has launched its all-new sushi bar at their state-of-the-art cinema in Mall of Qatar, in partnership with leading Japanese restaurant, Sushi Minto.

The Mall of Qatar venue opening has introduced a range of unique experiences to the region including the first ever 4D theatre to the Qatari market, the largest IMAX Laser screen in the MENA region, in-theatre dining, Kids’ screen and party room, as well as the first eight-lane bowling alley within a cinema venue in the region.

Over 150,000 visitors celebrate the grand opening day of Mall of Qatar

Under the patronage of His Highness The Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Mall of Qatar held its grand opening on April 8, 2017.Over 150,000 visitors flocked to witness the grand opening, with over 200 talented artists performing in over 20 mall-wide shows, 300,000 balloons in movement with the special acts, and extraordinary celebrations.

The Grand Opening Ceremony was an unparalleled celebration packed with unforgettable experiences and thrilling festivities that truly reflected Mall of Qatar’s vision.Guests were serenaded by the incredible vocals and lyrical prowess of multi-national awarded classical crossover vocal group - Il Divo. The Grand Opening day truly demonstrated Mall of Qatar’s merge of excellent shopping with amazing live entertainment for a mall experience like no other.

Speaking about the opening event, Rony Mourani, General Manager, Mall of Qatar said: “We are inspired by the gracious patronage of His Highness The Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and we offer His Highness our utmost gratitude for his patronage. DHL opens new retail service points in Mall of Qatar

Qatar Airways celebrated the opening of KidzMondo Doha’s interactive edutainment establishment on Wednesday, during a special ceremony held at the kid-sized city at Mall of Qatar. The inspiring partnership offers children a dynamic and fun introduction to their preferred roles as pilots and cabin crew, for an understanding of the exciting vocations available to them within the world-class airline, at Qatar’s one-of-a-kind edutainment city.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport and Communications, the opening ceremony was hosted by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker and Mr. Ali Kazma, Chairman of Kidz Holding and Founder of the KidzMondo concept. Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, has officially opened its latest branch at the popular Mall of Qatar. The new state-of-the-art branch provides full-fledged personal banking and ATM services.

Aspire Academy hosts FC Barcelona stars Pique, Alba and Busquets

FC Barcelona stars Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets visited Aspire Academy ahead of their scheduled panel discussion at the Mall of Qatar, which is jointly organised by the Academy and Mall of Qatar. 

As part of their visit, the players received a tour of Aspire Academy’s facilities and the latest technologies on offer, including a sneak peek of Aspire Academy’s new building, which is still under construction. Spain’s star defender Gerard Pique praised Aspire Academy, saying it is equipped with great facilities. When asked about his retirement plans from the national team, Pique said: “I have thought a lot about this decision and am happy I have made the right one. I’ll be 31 next year and I want to have a long career with my club, FC Barcelona. To do that, sometimes you have to make sacrifices and leaving the national team will give me more time to rest.”

Speaking about Aspire-owned Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa’s promotion to Spain’s Second Division, Pique added: “I think this will be a great experience for the team. It’s also good for Aspire Academy because they will be able to send their players to Spain to help them prepare for the Qatar World Cup 2022.” When asked if he’d consider playing in the Qatar Stars League like former teammate Xavi Hernandez, Pique said: “Right now, I would like to finish my football career with Barcelona, but in football you never know. I cannot rule anything out completely.”

Meanwhile, Jordi Alba advised Aspire Academy’s student-athletes to soak up as much knowledge from their coaches as possible and to keep fighting to their level of football. Commenting on the development of sports in Qatar, Alba added: “The sports field in Qatar is growing steadily. Qatar has a lot of potential and people are expecting great things from it.”
