A five-star super regional shopping mall in the making, the Mall of Qatar, showcased its spectacular scale and grandeur during MAPIC, the annual international retail real estate show held at the prestigious Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
Mall of Qatar, which will open its doors in August 2016, highlighted the opportunities offered by the region's first entertainment mall to over 8,000 delegates who attended MAPIC from November 18-20, 2015. Mall of Qatar unveiled an incredible custom designed 3D logo, displayed at the entrance of the Palais des Festivals and gave a warm welcome with electric violinists who entertained the retailers as well as the delegates. Mall of Qatar will be the first entertainment mall in the region that will have its own residency performing troupe with proprietary shows, custom developed for Mall of Qatar. Entertainment will be mall-wide and programmed throughout the week.
MOQ LIVE - Live Interactive Visual Entertainment - set within the Oasis, a 5,000 square-meter domed diverse space with a 360-degree custom-developed revolving stage and a pond of dancing water fountains, will be the forum for the staged spectaculars that will be the hallmark of the mall’s diverse entertainment offerings. "The mall has capitalized a lot on closing all the gaps that exist in the market, so our first aim is to create such a signature destination, a super-regional entertainment shopping mall that will enter into the league of Mega shopping malls of the region and that holds the name of the country,” said Naomi Sargeant, Marketing Director of Mall of Qatar.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2014, MAPIC has become a major industry event gathering 8,400+ international participants, including over 2,400 retailers and 2,300 property developers for 3 days of exhibition, conferences and networking events targeting all types of retail property: city and shopping centres, factory outlets, leisure areas and transit zones.
